Alumni Profile of Caroline Motloba

I started at Tsogo in 1990 doing standard 5(Grade 7) with the Marrian Middle School and matriculated in 1996 (Grade 12) I did my primary school in Mothotlung (where I was born) at Mokoena Primary School. Later I went and studied Internal Auditing at Pretoria Technikon. This choice of career was driven by my love for finance subjects and money of course, but I then realized that they were not motive enough; so I changed my course and studied Marketing Management. The deal was also that then we were encouraged to opt for careers that would make us ‘rich’, but I then learnt that for one to succeed and excel in their career they need to go for what they are passionate about and that’s when they will get to make that money.

When did you start and finish at Tsogo?

I went across to Tsogo from Morekolodi Primary in 1992. At the time Grades 7 to 9 (Std. 5 to 7) were ‘under’ Marian Middle School – but it’s always been one Tsogo. The ‘middle’ school was just a Bophuthatswana government creation I guess. I finished my matric at Tsogo in 1997.

Where did you do your primary schooling? (name and place)

I did my primary school at Morekolodi Primary in Mmakau. At the time the school was under Sister Kieran. I started at Morekolodi in 1989.

What further education institutions did you attend? (name and place)

From Tsogo I went to the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg to pursue a degree in Commerce (Finance & Investments). I’ve also done other post grad courses and professional courses and exams.

Alumni Profile of Keratilwe Rakobelwa

I started at Tsogo in 2002 during my Grade 10 and matriculated in 2004. Much earlier I did my Primary school in a small township called Ga-rankuwa at Agisanang. I attended Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, earning a National Diploma in IT majoring in Business Informatics.. Currently I wear multiple hats: I am a Junior Business Analyst for an IT Consultancy company, a Public Relations Executive for an entertainment company, JCulture entertainment and a DJ Manager for my own DJ Management company, Miss Kay Entertainment.

I am inspired by God and my great-grand mother have been a great inspiration for me. My great-grand mother at age 96 was the most humble and strongest woman I knew.  I believe the power is from within, the will to wake up and go make a change is inspiration enough. I’m my own role model!

To Alumni:

Keep your feet on the ground even with better shoes on. Always work hard to achieve what YOU believe in. And lastly, PRAY!

To current Students

The industry is a hard place to be in, but after years of studying and getting your qualification it will all be worth it. And choose a career path that YOU are passionate about, don’t let the world dictate your future and role in society.

My fondest memory of Tsogo, I think being in a class of the funniest and hard working students from Grade 10 is a memory on its own. The days of sitting by a place called “Sunnyside” behind the toilets during winter was classic as well.
