Experiences from Learners #TsogoCareerExpo2019

Lerato Mmotsa (Grade 12)

Learners attended a Career Expo which was held at Tsogo Secondary on 1 March 2019. It is an annual event hosted by Tsogo Alumni Society for the learners to critically figure out their careers paths and future as a whole. Learners from grade 9 to 12 were invited, as well as grade 12 learners from neighbouring schools, Malatse Motsepe Secondary School and Mothotlung Secondary School.

Message from the Tsogo Secondary School Principal: Matshepo Makgae #TsogoCareerExpo2019

Tsogo Secondary School community appreciates all your efforts of ploughing back to your former school. Since I assumed the principal’s post in December 2017, I observed serious commitment towards uplifting the image of the school to its former glory. The school appreciates the contribution made by your good selves to refurbish the toilets. Words fail me to truly pen the appreciation this project brought to the learners.

The golf day held at Houghton is another highlight that indicates how selfless you have been in trying to assist needy learners to pursue careers of their choice. I chose Martha Sithole and Lethabo Kekana to be awarded bursaries towards their studies. I am looking forward to seeing all our former learners joining us(Tsogo Alumni) to further assist the present learners and staff.

Matshepo Makgae

Message from the Alumni society school liaison #TsogoCareerExpo2019

It is a great honour for me to have been given an opportunity to join the Tsogo Alumni Society as a school liaison for the year 2019. I matriculated at Tsogo in 2009 and currently working at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) as a Software Engineer.

Ntefeng Moloisane [Tsogo 2009]

The Alumni Society has over the years contributed towards the achievement of various milestones such as school infrastructure improvements, learner career guidance and establishment of bursaries and scholarships. This has been possible through the continued support and tireless effort of teachers, the school management team, parents and learners. I think that the goal and objective moving forward should be fostering these relationships and collaborative effort, through frequent and consistent engagements so as to make Tsogo Secondary a conducive environment for both teaching and learning.

I would also like to encourage more individuals from the Alumni to come on board and become active participants in this course because “Alone we can do so little and together we can do so much”. (Hellen Keller). I trust that 2019 will be a fruitful year for us all filled with endless possibilities.

Call to Participate: 10th Tsogo Secondary Career Expo (1 March 2019)

We would love to have you at the 2019 career expo.

The 2019 career expo will be held on the 1st of March 2019. The Tsogo Alumni Society would humbly like to invite You/Your Organisation to come and present at our Tenth Annual Careers Expo to be held on Friday 1 March 2019 at the school in Mmakau village. The event will be attended by some former students, current learners, teachers,  company and university representatives and some members of the community.

We request that you or anyone from your organisation be one of our presenters at the March 1st 2019 event. The presentation could cover information about your organization and programmes, and more. It would be interesting to get Tsogo learners to learn about your Entrepreneurial Development, Mentorship, Scholarships and other programmes.

The aim of the presentations is to inform current Grade 9 to 12 learners about various career choices, tertiary institution programmes and courses ,bursary and funding options, alternative choices (such as entrepreneurship) and offer them general career guidance. Representatives of each organisation or institution will be allocated a stand which will be visited by small groups of learners during the course of the Expo. Interactions with learners may be in the form of a presentation followed by formal and informal question and answer sessions.

We will provide you with more details about the day’s programme well ahead of the event so you are aware of your time slot should you wish to join us.

Many thanks for your consideration on this matter and we wait to hear from you.

You can get a formal letter for your organisation by downloading it here

If you or your organisation/company/business are interested in participating, please fill in the short form linked below to confirm attendance.
