Alumni Profile of Noosie C. Petlele

I started at Tsogo in 1977 and graduated/finished in1978. I was in the first graduating matric class at Tsogo. Earlier I attended Tlhologelo Primary School in Moletsane, Soweto. Further on, I received my undergraduate degree in Fine Arts (design major) from York University in Toronto, Canada. Hold an MBA degree from one of our sister institutions in the USA called Holy Names University in California.

What do you currently do?

I am now painting (art) portraits professionally. Bakgatlha tlang le tlo go ntshapota…

I am inspired by my parents, Sister Majella, The late Kay Motsepe, Dr. Anna Mokgokong and a lot of other hardworking women I’ve met in my life. I’d fill a couple of pages if I had to mention them all.

Message to Alumni

Participate in the association. We need to pull together as a community. Bakgatla, we need you to get involved!

Message to current Students

Work hard, be patient, focused and never give up. Always give your best effort. Lastly, realize that the freedom you enjoy today came at a price, protect it.

My fondest memory of Tsogo is our trip to Kwa-Zulu and Swaziland in 1978.

I just wanted to point out some notable students in this picture. Even though Patrice Motsepe didn’t graduate from Tsogo, he was a student there in the 80’s. There’s also the radio personality Tim Modise. Kgoadi Malatse was CEO of Coega when they started the port in Port Elizabeth.

ps. By the way. I am the one wearing a white jersey with a red stripe across.

I have a number of achievements. Being in the first graduating class at Tsogo built a house in the community with Father Michael, that to me was my greatest achievement because whatever achievements, academic, etc., they will not top learning to give back to the community. That’s what I learnt from that significant achievement.
